Mini Meyer Lemon Tree
Bring home a touch of citrus heritage
Perfect as a unique gift, the Miniature Meyer Lemon Tree, or Citrus x meyeri, is a beautiful hybrid between a lemon and a mandarin orange, originating from China. Introduced to the U.S. in 1908 by the Dutch horticulturist Frank Meyer, this tree combines the best of both citrus worlds. After overcoming historical challenges with the Citrus Tristeza virus, the Improved Meyer Lemon Tree was released in 1975 by the University of California, free from the disease that once threatened its kind.
This cold-hardy and resilient tree thrives in USDA hardiness zones 8 to 11, growing to a manageable size of 6 to 10 feet at maturity. It's not only vigorous and productive but also ornamental, with a compact, shrubby form that fits perfectly in small gardens or as a potted patio plant.
