Description / Popstars Rose With Eye Phlox Seeds
Days to Maturity: 63 to 77
Popstars Rose With Eye Phlox is a modern-day version of an old-fashioned favorite with improved garden performance and flower power. It is an annual offering spring to summer interest. Long and heavy blooming, Popstars Rose pops in a dazzling "fireworks" display of bright-eyed, star-shaped, bicolor rose red and white blooms. Borne in clusters at stem ends, the finely cut flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds to the garden.
A dwarf variety, Popstars Rose With Eye Phlox has an upright, multi-branched, mounded habit of oblong to lance-shaped bright green leaves and a rapid growth rate. Its low-growing form is shown to best effect massed or grouped in drifts or as edging or groundcover in beds and borders. They also create stunning containers and hanging baskets. These fun flowers are perfect for children's gardens.
Easy to grow, Popstars Rose With Eye Phlox prefers full sun to partial shade and loose, humusy, acidic, medium moisture, well-drained soil. The plant tolerates heat and some dryness and repels deer.
Direct sow phlox seed after the last frost in spring, as soon as the soil is warm, or start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost and transplant after all threat of frost has passed when day temperatures range between 62 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit and night temperatures range between 60 to 62 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.
